UBC Vancouver Summer Program 2026 Application Form

Thank you for your interest in UBC Vancouver Summer Program (VSP) 2026. Before starting your application, please review the VSP application requirements and answer the following statements to determine your eligibility.

The age of majority in British Columbia is 19. If you will be under 19 years of age anytime during the program period, you will need to obtain the consent of your parent or guardian to participate in VSP.

Important - Please read carefully before proceeding with your application

Based on your responses, you have fulfilled the general application requirements for UBC VSP 2026 and are eligible to apply. Before proceeding with the application, please note the following:

  • VSP course packages do not carry UBC academic credits. The grades letter issued after the successful completion of VSP is not an official UBC transcript.
  • Some course packages may have additional admission requirements. Please review the course-specific requirements on the VSP website carefully before submitting an application.
  • This application form has three parts and it will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please use a laptop or desktop computer and access the form using Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox.
  • All fields on this application must be completed using the Latin/English alphabets (A-Z, a-z, including accented characters) and numbers (0-9) only. DO NOT enter characters of other writing systems (e.g. Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.); otherwise, you will be asked to provide your information again and this will delay your application.
  • You must enter your personal information exactly as it appears on your government-issued passport, travel document, or identification document. You must also upload a scanned copy of your student ID or enrolment letter issued by your home institution to confirm your enrolment status.
  • After successfully submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email.
  • If you have already submitted your application and need to make changes, DO NOT submit a new application. Email your updates to vsp.applications@ubc.ca.

Collection, use and disclosure of your personal information

Your personal information is collected under the authority of section of 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). The personal information recorded in this application form as well as in later stages of registration will be used for the purposes of:

  • Answering inquiries about your application, registration, and progress in the program
  • Determining admissibility to the program
  • Operation of the program
  • Questions related to other program-related needs

UBC may disclose information to your home institution or other third parties where necessary to determine your suitability for the program, to assist you in receiving funding, to enroll you in medical insurance coverage, or to address health, safety or disciplinary concerns. UBC may also provide a Grades Letter to your home institution to assist you in obtaining academic credit. By completing this application, you are authorizing such disclosure.

Latin alphabets (A-Z, a-z, including accented characters) only.. This can be a name you prefer to be addressed by. For example, your legal first name is Margaret but you would prefer to be called Maggie.

All communications from VSP will be sent to this email address. You should also use this email when sending messages to us. We recommend using the email address provided by your home institution. Do not use another person’s email. Please add emails from @ubc.ca to your safe lists.

This email will only be used if VSP messages cannot be sent to your primary email address entered above.

Select your date of birth, as it appears on your passport, travel document or identification document.

If you have more than one citizenship, please select the citizenship of the passport you will use to enter Canada with. If you do not see your country, please email vsp.applications@ubc.ca. Find out if you need a visa to travel to Canada at the IRCC website.

Latin/English alphabets (A-Z, a-z, including accented characters) and numbers (0-9) only. Please enter your current correspondence address in full. This should be the same address that you will use for your Canadian visa/eTA application (if needed), and this address will be printed on your Letter of Acceptance and fee payment receipt. No physical mail will be sent to this address from UBC or VSP.

If your current institution/university has multiple campuses, enter the name of the campus below.

Select the degree you are currently pursuing. If you have recently graduated, please select "Other" and indicate the degree and date (month and year) you graduated from. Please note that priority is given to students who are enrolled as an undergraduate student and will continue to be enrolled for the duration of the Vancouver Summer Program.

English only. This should be your specialization or the degree program you are studying. For example, Business, Economics, Education, Medicine, Science etc.

Choose the year level you are currently in at the time of application.

To verify your admission/enrolment at your current university/institution, please upload ONE of the following documents:

  • A copy of your student ID card (front and back), or
  • (For Chinese students) A copy of your student ID booklet (with all pages, including your personal information, enrollment information and clearly showing the university name/stamp), or
  • An enrolment letter issued by your current university/institution confirming your student status, or
  • An acceptance letter issued by your upcoming university/institution confirming your admission (for students who has not commenced post-secondary studies (first year) only).

Instructions

  • The document must clearly show your full name and the name of your current university/institution (preferably in English, but not required).
  • The document should be scanned or photographed in full. Screenshots or photos showing only a part of the full document are not accepted.
  • To protect your privacy, if your student ID card is also a bank, debit, or credit card, please cover the card number and any security numbers on the card before you upload the file.
  • Rename the file in the following format: LAST NAME First Name (example: DOE John)
  • Accepted file formats: pdf, jpeg, jpg, png
  • Maximum file size: 2MB

DO NOT upload any the following:

  • Offer letter from your university/institution, even if you have accepted the offer and is currently enrolled
  • Public or university entrance examination results
  • Course registration confirmation from your home institution
  • Screenshot of your student portal at your home institution
  • Passport, government ID, or any other documents not issued by your current university/institution

Submitting documents that do not follow the guidelines above will cause delays to your application.
